Welcoming a new child is a joyous, momentous BIG DEAL, and working parents deserve to feel supported and empowered before, during, and after parental leave. 

Unfortunately, even in leading-edge ‘great place to work’ organizations, 
a typical parental leave is far from a net positive.  Parents often feel stressed and unsupported, and are likely to report that their leave experience caused decreased engagement and long-term career harm… and their teams and organizations often experience conflict, decreased effectiveness, and organizational risk due to bungled (and often illegal) leave policy implementation.

I’m Kelly, founder of Little Bites Coaching. I’ve navigated three parental leaves of my own, coached dozens of parents through their leaves, and advised organizations on how to improve policies and practices to better support parents and their managers.
