Just Do It
Hello, friends! My blog is back, and I’m rebooting it by sharing some of my favorite classic tips and resources. David Allen’s Getting Things Done is solid gold, full of tons of practical advice for making decisions and, well, getting things done. One of his simplest, shiniest nuggets is the 2-minute rule: if something is going to take you less than 2 minutes, just do it. (My caveat: UNLESS you’re in the middle of thoughtful important work- then don’t interrupt yourself.) As David explains in the below interview, using the 2-minute rule trains you to make decisions quickly and execute tasks in small pockets of time. Try it- maybe 5x a day, at work and at home- and kick those small tasks before they even hit your to-do list.
